United Airlines 777 at EWR
This Boeing 777 was parked at the gate next to my plane when I
flew out of EWR in January, 1997. I wasn't expecting to see one
at Newark, but I caught a glimpse of the flattend tail as we we
were passing through security. This was the first 777 I'd seen
"in the wild" (I saw the protoype at Boeing Field and few planes
in the paint shop at Everett a couple of years ago).
I was
surprised that the plane didn't seem huge. The 737 I was flying
didn't seem dwarfed the way I was expecting. In fact, the way
I convinced myself it really was a 777 was by looking
at the triple-axel main gear.
